Scientific and technological advances in the fight against cancer

Abstract

Cancer is one of the most common diseases of our era. It is not surprising that in recent
decades, much research in health science, technology, and biomedicine has focused on this
medical specialty. In the oncological context, in recent decades, due to technical-scientific
and medical developments in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of tumors, it has been
possible to significantly increase the survival and quality of life of patients. What once
seemed impossible in cancer research is now a reality thanks to technological innovations
that have led to the discovery of ways to find, visualize, understand, and treat cancer. This
article aims to improve scientific and technological advances in the fight against cancer,
based on a review of the literature. Regarding the current universe of cancer treatment,
immunotherapy, CAR-T CELL therapy, targeted therapy and hypnotherapy stand out as
innovative treatments against cancer, which seek therapeutic, biopsychosocial and minor
effects in patients either due to adverse effects or damage to healthy cells. Immunotherapy,
alvo therapy (or alvo drugs) and CAR T cells are part of the new generation of therapies
that are considered revolutionary in cancer treatment. Hypnotherapy is the use of hypnosis
to treat a medical or psychological disorder or problem. All physical symptoms can be reduced through the use of hypnotic techniques in medicine, such as pain, eating disorders,
nausea, and vomiting.
