Abstract

The skin is the largest organ in the human body, where many important structures for the proper functioning of the body are found, such as glands, follicles, vessels and nerve endings. The skin fulfills several functions in the organism, such as touch, physical protection, protection against dehydration, among others. Because it covers the entire body extension, it is the first organ subject to burn damage, whether by fire, boiling liquid compound, or chemical product, and the post-traumatic recovery of the patient is related to various factors, such as the depth, extent of the injury, patient's immune response and other physiological factors. There are several existing treatments for tissue recovery in this type of patient, but little is mentioned about growth factors (FC). FC are peptides naturally produced by the body that have several functions, which significantly contribute to the rapid recovery of the patient and with a lower incidence of fibrosis, hypertrophic, hypotrophic, chyloid scars, and hyperpigmentation. To carry out the work, a bibliographic survey of scientific articles published predominantly from 2017 to 2022 was carried out, on renowned platforms such as: Scielo, PUBMED, Google scholars. It was possible to conclude with the work that growth factors as a treatment in burned patients are responsible for generating a healthier and more efficient recovery in less time, bringing less psychological damage to the patient.
